The STEM Pillars: Image

STEM Pillars

STEM Pillars is a three-year design-based research (DBR) project funded by IMLS (Institute of Museum and Library Services) in partnership with seven informal learning institutions (five libraries and two museums) to develop hands-on and inquiry-based STEM workshops in five disciplines (engineering, astronomy, meteorology, water, plants) for families with elementary aged children (PI: Dr. Heather Zimmerman). I was the lead curriculum and learning experience designer for engineering and astronomy workshops. I took the lead in data collection for most of the workshops (as of October, 2018, we have delivered these intergenerational programs at 45 workshops to 564 participants, 239 families).
