I am a researcher, educator, engineer, and designer.

I am currently an assistant professor of Library and Information Science at School of Informatics and Computing at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). I received my Ph.D. from Learning, Design, and Technology program at The Pennsylvania State University. I was part of the Augmented and Mobile Learning Research Group.

My scholarly goal as an information and learning scientist is to broaden STEM learning pathways for socially marginalized learners in rural communities by designing constructionist learning environments in and across informal learning environments. My work is centered around community-engaged scholarship using participatory design methodology and interaction analysis to understand micro-development of learning processes and utilize participants’ cultural assets as resources for design.

Previously, I worked as a project manager to design and develop smartphones at LG Electronics.

My educational background includes B.S. in Industrial Design from KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) and M.S. in Strategic Product Design, Industrial Design Engineering from TU Delft (Delft University of Technology).
